Rose Seeger

Vocals and Violin

Rose is a graduate of UW Parkside, Kenosha, WI and UW Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI. She taught in the Racine Unified School District at the high school level for several years, moving into a principal position during her last years of working in education.  She has always loved old time gospel but her first true experience with bluegrass was during her last year of working. While listening to a hard driving banjo play on the radio, she fell in love with the sound and decided to learn how to play it to "keep the mind sharp". Rose started going to jams and festivals, learning the songs and making friends with many bluegrass musicians and listeners. After a couple of years, she gave up the banjo and decided to dust off her high school violin. She wanted to see how it would sound as a fiddle and she's still working at it! Rose met Kathy at a jam, they started singing together and the rest is history. Rose is retired and lives in Yorkville, Wisconsin, a township just west of Racine, WI. with her

husband, Rick, of 50 years, has two grown children, two grandchildren and one rescue Wirehaired

Terrier, Miss Lilly.
